About CEAVERS
CEAVERS (Centre for European AI Visibility Evaluation & Research Standards) is an independent research organisation founded in 2026. CEAVERS measures how brands, concepts, and topics appear in AI-generated responses across six major language models in five European languages, publishing a quarterly European AI Visibility Index alongside long-form research and an open glossary.
Governance
CEAVERS operates under a collegial editorial structure. Research design, prompt engineering, scoring, and publication are carried out by a team of researchers and analysts with backgrounds in information retrieval, computational linguistics, European digital policy, and financial sector analysis. The organisation does not publish individual staff names in order to preserve institutional independence and to ensure that the Index is assessed on methodological merit rather than on the credentials of any single contributor.
Editorial decisions — including panel composition, methodology changes, and index release timing — are made collectively and documented in the versioned methodology changelog. No individual staff member has unilateral authority over a score or ranking.
Advisory structure
CEAVERS convenes an informal network of academic reviewers and industry analysts who provide feedback on methodology revisions and prompt design ahead of each quarterly release. Reviewers are drawn from European universities, independent research institutes, and professional bodies in the sectors covered by the Index. Formal advisory arrangements, when established, will be disclosed on this page.
Funding and independence
CEAVERS does not accept research grants, sponsorships, or commissions from any organisation whose brands are evaluated in the Index, from any LLM vendor, or from any entity with a commercial interest in Index rankings. Operational costs are covered by institutional funding from the organisation's founding members. Data files are published under a CC BY 4.0 licence at no cost to researchers, journalists, and the public.
Conflict-of-interest policy
No brand, LLM vendor, or third party may pay to be included in, excluded from, or ranked higher in the CEAVERS Index. Brands are selected for the panel based on market capitalisation, European headquarters, and sector diversity. All additions and removals are recorded in the quarterly methodology changelog. Any future funder relationships will be disclosed on this page in full before the next Index release.
Independence
CEAVERS does not accept payment for evaluations and has no commercial affiliation with any vendor evaluated by the Index. Full details in the editorial policy.
